Ultra MTB offers personalized coaching for endurance mountain bike racers with the overarching objective of helping you meet your goals while keeping training simple, fun, and efficient. I can help you with preparation and execution of anything from 50-mile marathons to 24-hour lap races to multi-day self-supported bikepacking races. I also recognize that while some cyclists thrive on a diet of structured workouts, others might prefer to prioritize riding enjoyment in conjunction with training goals over strictly regulated efforts and prescribed training hours. With all that in mind, here’s what I offer:
Advanced Endurance Coaching Program
This program offers the level of race preparation that Kurt himself would go through in the months leading up to any ultra – specific training goals and workouts, careful consideration of gear selection, mental preparation, and detailed race execution planning. Here's what's included:
Personal evaluation and initial consultation to identify goals, history, experience, motivators, etc.
Daily training plan created on a 1- to 2-week basis built around specific athletic goals and other life commitments
Guided training zone identification for training by power, heart rate, or perceived exertion
Recommendations about bike setup, gear selection, self-care, general event-specific nutrition, mental preparation, course-specific considerations/strategies for targeted races and goals
Weekly email exchanges and one telephone consultation per month (if desired; not including initial consultation; additional consultations discounted 30%)
Regular review and analysis of training data in TrainingPeaks (heart rate or power)
